Confirmed bypasses
Each bypass with its impact and reproduction steps, supported by a proof of concept where applicable.
Find out whether the protections in your mobile app stop real attackers, not just well-known tools. Get evidence of what can be bypassed and why.
For teams that have integrated a protection SDK or built their own controls into a mobile app.
Your SDK vendor describes what the product can do. How well it protects your app depends on your configuration and integration: which checks are enabled, how the app reacts and which flows are covered.
A protection can detect a well-known tool and still fail against a different approach, while your team believes the app is protected. If the protection can be bypassed, attackers can still automate fraud, tamper with the client or clone the app.
We test whether your controls prevent the actions they are meant to stop, rather than simply checking that they trigger. Depending on your app, testing can cover:

Which of the agreed objectives became possible, and what an attacker could do as a result.
The weakness behind each bypass, explained so your team or your SDK vendor can decide how to address it.
What we tested, as agreed in the proposal. Where we found no bypass, we describe what we tried.
Our team contributes to MASVS-RESILIENCE, the part of OWASP MAS that covers resistance to debugging, tampering, reverse engineering, emulators and dynamic instrumentation. The same specialists who write those tests attempt to bypass your protections. OWASP recognized this work by naming vulnit an OWASP MAS Advocate.
We do not sell app protections. We assess the behavior of your integrated app, not the capabilities listed in a datasheet.
We investigate protected apps in our own assessments and research, and build the tooling we use to do it.
Meet the teamRuntime application self-protection (RASP) detects or responds to suspicious activity while an application runs. RASP validation tests whether those protections work against agreed attack scenarios and whether a bypass exposes the behavior or data they are intended to protect.
A mobile application penetration test looks for vulnerabilities across the agreed application scope. This service focuses on the effectiveness of protections against reverse engineering, tampering and runtime manipulation. The two assessments can complement each other.
Yes, as it works in your app. Results depend on the SDK version, configuration and integration tested; they should not be treated as a verdict on every use of that product. If you develop a protection SDK, see our protection SDK evaluation.
Yes. We scope the assessment for the platforms your application supports. Each platform has different security mechanisms and constraints, so we agree the builds, devices and test conditions separately.
No. Testing is black-box: we start with the same knowledge an attacker would have.
We estimate each engagement from the number of apps and platforms, the protections and attacker objectives in scope and whether backend checks are included. You receive a proposal with scope, price and schedule before testing begins.
Retesting is quoted separately at a reduced rate. We agree which fixes and builds to revisit so you can check whether the reported bypasses still work after the changes.
Tell us about your app and the protections it uses. We reply within one business day to arrange a scoping call.
